Callaway Superfast golf ball
Callaway superfast is a 2 piece complete distance golf ball which also provides a good balance of feel and durability in an affordable price bracket.
Callaway golf is a renowned golf manufacturing brand and Callaway superfast is another golf ball that was not as much marketed as other Callaways balls like Callaway warbird balls.
Getting a better aerodynamics design and soft feel the callaway superfast ball gets into its newer 2022 generation. When compared to the previous models of callaway superfast golf ball the newer one performs better in flight, distance and feel.
Many of the people have not even heard about this ball as it was not famous as other top-tier ball like callaway superhot balls and callaway supersoft balls but trust me superfast balls are a good competitors to callaway warbird and other distance golf balls like srixon distance.
Callaway superfast performance review
Distance
When it comes to distance the Callaway superfast lives up to its mark. As it is marketed as the complete ball. The ball provides a high speed core which maximizes ball speeds and distance. It provides increased distance with all types of golf clubs from irons to wedges.
After playing a few shots with it I was instantly feeling an increase in distance even though I am not a senior golfer and my handicap is low. Then I let my high handicap friend test it and he was also getting a good 5-6 yards increase.
I also felt that it was providing a similar performance like callaway chrome soft in terms of distance and soft feel balls.
Compression
Having a Compression rating of 38, It is one of the lowest compression golf ball.
The compression characteristics of the superfast balls give a good balance of soft feel and responsiveness. This feature helps it to provide solid performance across different golf clubs.
The ball has a low compression rating but still it compresses more easily than the Callaway warbird and srixon distance balls.
Spin
A common feature that lacks in many different distance golf balls is the greenside spin. The Superfast ball had 20% better spin rate in comparison to its previous generation.
During testing the ball was providing decent spin but I found that chips were rolling out more than what I was looking for. We also talked with other amateur golfers and found that it gives 10% less slices and hooks then its previous generations.
Overall good amount of spin for this category of ball. I got used to the spin it was providing and continued the testing.
Feel
It is a very good ball in terms of soft feel. The superfast ball provides a quite similar soft feel when compared to other soft golf balls but the superfast also gives an edge with its distance capabilities. While playing the first round when the club touched the golf ball it felt like a pga tour championship ball.
In the first hole it felt similar to hitting a soft stretchy surface of a marshmallow. The ball also uses a hybrid cover with Callaway’s patented PARALOID Impact Modifier which helps it to get a high launch and soft feel at the same time.
Most players don’t use other generations like Callaway supersoft because it is too soft for them and Callaway warbird because it is harder than this.
Durability
Durability wise this ball is the best. It is one of the best features of the ball that we found in this callaway superfast golf ball review.
As I played two rounds with it there was no scuffing or wear on the ball. After playing the first round the ball felt like it was still new and the dirt was also easy to wipe off than other white balls.
Pros
Excellent distance performance.
Soft feel around greens.
Durable construction.
Bright color for easy tracking
Cons
Greenside spin may not meet expectations for advanced players.
Some may prefer a firmer feel.
Callaway Superfast Technologies
Core design
The Callaway Superfast is a two piece construction ball. It features a hard inner core with a soft outer hybrid surlyn cover. The three piece construction helps in achieving greater distance, maximizing energy transfer and the soft cover enables it to provide a good soft feel making it a great ball for golfers with swing speed of lower than 90 MPH.
Aerodynamics
The Callaway Soft ball uses the advanced HEX aerodynamic pattern with exact 332 dimples to reduce drag and increase lift and ball.aim. The ball has a high flight which we even confirmed from a range finder. This combination of high launch, more lift and HEX design make it feel more straighter and further for slow swing speed golfers.
Visual Appearance
The Callaway superfast has a large variety of colors. The Callaway superfast has other color options which Callaway markets as Callaway superfast bold golf balls. It has multiple color options but the popular ones are the yellow golf ball and red.
The superfast bold balls provide a really good golfing experience as they are easy to navigate in the air and are one of the easiest golf balls to see even if it doesn’t have a ball tracker.
Comparison with Srixon Distance
I played one round with both balls after the testing rounds of Superfast balls. As an avid golfer I found many similarities and many differences between the two balls.
When hitting both the distance golf balls off the tee I found that in terms of distance both the balls were quite similar but in some shots the srixon distance gave one or two extra yards.
In terms of feel there is no comparison the Callaway superfast bold is far ahead from the Srixon distance. The srixon distance feels like a rock which is even more harder then the Callaway warbird ball but the superfast has a better and soft feel as compared to other distance balls.
Both balls had a great durability considering that distance has a two piece construction and superfast has a three piece. Both balls didn’t show a single wear during the whole testing.
The biggest concern of the distance golf balls is the spin which they pullout from. Even though the course conditions were very similar to the castle pines golf and I was using a swag golf putter which has a good grip but the spin on Srixon distance around the greens was very bad. In comparison the Super fast had a better spin not as compared to top premium balls but better than many distance balls. It also had less slices and hooks.
Overall, if you are a mid to high handicappers the Callaway Superfast is a far better option for you.
Who is Callaway Superfast for?
After the Complete Callaway Superfast golf ball review. The superfast golf ball is best for amateur , for mid to high handicap golfers and golfers with swing speed of under 90 MPH according to swing speed calculator.
This is because most of these golfers often find it difficult to hit other golf balls further because of their low swing speed so this distance golf ball is a great option for them seeking further distance without compromising feel, durability and affordability.
I highly recommend every golfer to test multiple golf balls on their own to find the perfect match to their playing style and skill level.
