As a golfer with over 100 MPH swing speed and a handicap of below than 15 I will be giving my honest reviews for this ball. I am a regular player of Callaway golf balls and The Pro V1. Vice pro soft is a great golf ball with excellent soft ball qualities.
Initial Impressions
When holding the box instantly the gray color hits you. The box itself has a great finish with a big Pro Soft Written on it. The sleeve of the ball also has great graphics. The golf ball itself has a nice big vice logo in the front and the ball model alignment on the side.
At first glance the urethane cover feels very premium and classy Similar to other premium golf balls. On biting the ball it feels a little more harder than the Callaway supersoft as it has higher compression ratings.
Vice golf balls are usually mid-price golf balls providing convenience to their audience by giving DTC Options. The other options of vice balls like vice tour pro, vice drive, vice pro are also great when compared to their competitors. Let’s give it a performance test.
Vice pro soft golf ball review: Performance
Distance
Testing the first and most important factor for any golf ball is the distance off the tee. Vice pro soft is not a more distance golf ball like Callaway superfast. But it is a more soft, focused ball but this doesn’t mean the ball doesn’t give good distance.
Off the tee with my swing speed the ball covered a good distance of around 252 yards in the first shot and after playing 15 shots with it the average distance pro soft covers is around 250 golf balls. The ball is good for experienced golfers and regular golfers who typically use the Callaway Supersoft or Srixon Soft feel.
The ball is better than average with the irons and has high spin with wedges. This ball is good for golfers below the speed of 90 MPH. In comparison to vice pro plus and zero the ball just only feels more softer with almost similar performance.
Compression
The compression of the vice soft ball is around 70 which makes it a mid compression golf ball. The pro models usually have Mid-High Compression. This compression makes it a bit harder than other soft models and lesser than the premium titleist ball pro v1.
The importance of compression is also important. This ball compresses easily both with the driver and irons. Apart from the golf course the ball also compressed easily in indoor golf equipment/golf gear testings.
Spin
Spin is one of the important things we focused on in this vice pro soft review. In the short game the ball spin rate was great and consistent. In testing I found that the average spin of the ball was around 3-4 yards. Sometimes the ball spun backward and sometimes forward.
This is a tour-style ball so this means that it has better performance than the normal balls. The other vice models had similar spin. Many experienced golfers like the pro models because it helps them to control their short game and distance better.
The spin of Vice pro soft is low with the driver but the wedge spin is high with this ball. It is a great ball off the greens.
Feel
This golf ball feel-wise is a very fantastic golf ball. The urethane-covered golf ball is known for its soft nature and excellent ball spin. Vice pro ball softness is similar to the vice drive.
In vice ball comparisons we found that it has the softest feel then other soft balls. These things are really softer than mainstream ball brands. This softness is lesser than the pro v1 but greater than wilson duo soft.
Beginner golfers and faster-swinging golfers can find it difficult to play with mid compression and spin ball. This is not a clicky golf ball like most two-piece balls. It also gives a premium hand feel than surlyn-covered golf balls.
Durability
The biggest downside of soft golf balls is the lasting or durability. But this ball will not disappoint you. I played a total of one round with it and during the whole round one ball lasted well.
But I was not in the condition to play another round. So for affordable golf balls and value golf balls this is very impressive and also it is a tour ball. This ball can easily last one round with golf clubs and will not turn yellow easily if placed for a long time in your golf bag.
Pros
Soft Feel: Provides an exceptionally soft feel for enhanced feedback on short game shots.
High Spin Control: Offers excellent spin on approach shots, allowing for better control on the greens.
Durability: The urethane cover resists scuffing, maintaining performance over multiple rounds.
Affordable Price: A premium ball at a lower price point compared to other high-end brands.
Cons
Distance Limitations: May not deliver as much distance for players with higher swing speeds.
Scuffing Issues: The matte finish can scuff more easily, affecting its appearance over time.
Limited Availability: Primarily sold online, making it less accessible than major brands in retail stores
Vice Pro Soft Technologies:
Core Design
Vice pro soft has a three-piece core. This core is found in many tour-level golf balls like many titleist golf balls and taylormade golf balls.
This core helps in better energy transfer for controlled performance. Vice soft being a budget-friendly tour ball makes it easier to perform better for slower-swinging golfers.
Aerodynamics
Vice Pro Soft, Golf ball: A ball with a special shape so that it can fly further. There are 318 dimples found on the face so that it is stable in flight.
Such a design makes the ball glide smoothly in the wind, also going further and higher. It will go further and be more accurate because golfers hit it better for shots they want with more control.
Visual Appearance
Visually, it is a very slick and businesslike golf ball, VP Soft is sport bright white finish UV stabilized, thus ensuring much better resistance against discoloration. The glossy surface aids to give an enhanced visibility look on the course and minimizes glare in bright conditions, plus easier tracking of shots.
In addition to this, subtle alignment aids are in the ball that aid simply enhance aiming, therefore the overall aesthetic look. It provides expensive visuals at a budget-friendly tour ball price.
